The GSB is offering our one and only entertainment class in spring – "Working in the Film, Cable and TV Industries."

This course is taught by Rod Kramer, one half of the dynamic "Power & Politics" duo, and Bill Guttentag, a working producer in Hollywood who commutes south weekly to work on hit TV shows.

The course meets once a week and is meant for people who intend to go into entertainment professionally or to work in a complementary sector. Through a series of mini-lectures from and Q&A with a range of industry types -- agents, writers, producers, directors, actors -- students have the opportunity to understand the players and their roles in the business of entertainment.

The course uses readings on various aspects of the industry to add to an understanding of how entertainment works. At the end of the quarter, there is a significant final project on a subject of the student's choice. Last year's projects included the traditional research papers and also non-traditional ones like documentary, screenplay and animation

Jon Daves and I (who are TA-ing the course) will be happy to speak with anyone who would like to know more about the course.
