The GSB Stock Competition is off to the races! Grabbing hold of the top spot after only two days of trading is 2nd year, Martin Herrmann. By shorting Enron, Ebay, and Amazon, he managed a total return of 2.07%. As for Enron plunging 9.5% in two days, Martin says “nothing is more damaging to a market maker than losing its reputation”. His strategy going forward will be to go short those companies that have “questionable strategies” as determined by his Burgelman/Grove class. Can he keep up the pace for another two weeks? Is he a Contender or a Pretender? An update in the next edition of The Reporter…

Reminder
We already have 109 entries for the stock competition. We’d love to have even more GSB’rs join up prior to the sign up deadline on November 15th, 2001. Participants are allowed to submit one individual entry, as well as one team entry.

Check out who is in the lead now, or sign up yourself!
