Beginning this month, all MBA students will have the opportunity to tell the MBA Program staff what you think of our services in a series of monthly surveys. These short, anonymous "Gallup-type" surveys will focus on your satisfaction with student services.

Our purpose is to get your feedback, identify areas of concern, and gather suggestions for improvement. According to Sharon Hoffman, Associate Dean and Director of the MBA Program, "Surveying students monthly throughout the academic year will give us real-time feedback on how we're doing, as well as tangible suggestions for improvement. It's a great opportunity for you to evaluate us, and we hope everyone will participate."

Every month’s survey will ask one question, repeated every month, about your satisfaction with all student services (Student Life, GSB Registrar, CMC, Financial Aid, GMP, PMP, and MCP). Each survey then will focus on a different area of the MBA student experience, with 5-6 questions about that particular service. The web-based surveys will be short enough to complete in 5 minutes. Results will be reported to the student body, staff, and Dean’s Office within 30 days, and also will be published in The Reporter.

Why should you take the time to fill out the survey? Because...

- It only takes 5 minutes (honest!)

· - We (staff and administrators) don’t know how we're doing unless you tell us.

· - You care about improving student services for yourself and future classes.

· - We will contribute $100 to Challenge for Charity (C4C) if 90% of you complete the first survey.

The November survey will be emailed to all MBA students after midterms on Thursday, November 15 and remain posted until Tuesday, November 20. This survey will focus on the Student Life Office. It also will include an open-ended question soliciting suggestions for things the School could do to improve students’ daily life. We want to hear any and all ideas, big or small. (After all, Schwab was just an idea only a few years ago.)

Our immediate goal, though, is to implement the most popular ideas this academic year. The most frequently mentioned and/or the most feasible ideas in the November survey will be brought back in a subsequent survey for a student vote.

The Deans' Office is very committed to implementing the top one or two suggestions as quickly as possible. All the suggestions received will be reported, but obviously smaller ideas (e.g., free WSJ) will have a better chance of getting implemented this year than capital-intensive suggestions such as the construction of a world-class gym.

We're looking forward to hearing your opinions and ideas. So, tell us what you think!
