Game 5 saw the GSB rise to a new peak to spank the Fighting Irish of Burlingame by 7-0.
With Jesus Tramutola and Ajay Singh looking like rocks in defense, and Ricardo Cervantes entertaining the crowd with several backheels, the GSB started the game in style.
However, profligate finishing from the GSB (Brian Grossman in particular), ensured that the GSB only led 1-0 at half time after dominating the play.
With several of the Irish having a quick cigarette at half time, the GSB were confidence their superior fitness would tell as the game progressed.
This was indeed the case, with the physically dominant Martin Sumner scoring two before the lightning quick Grossman added another two in quick succession.
With Mark Hawkins ghosting through the Irish defense to smash in the 5th, the rout was almost over. With 2 goals in the last few minutes, Brian Grossman made it 7-0, and ensured he scored an amazing 4 goals for the second week in succession.
With other rivals also winning, GSB remain in 4th place but hope to climb further next week...
