Game 4 saw the GSB take on Inter Milan 2, seeking revenge from their Boord-like destruction the week before against Inter Milan 1. With the grey fox, Geoff Lieberthal, back in action after a horrific hair injury the week before, the team looked better than ever.

The game started well for the GSB. Darren Johnston, who apparently hasn’t scored for ten years, struck a sweet shot from 20 yards to put GSB into an early lead.

With Darren again coming close with a header that hit the crossbar, the GSB looked dominant. It fell to Brian Grossman to score the second with his knee, after great build up work from Beach Boy lookalike Martin Sumner and super-tanned Mark Hawkins (can he really be English?).

With Martin Efron and Jon Cobin looking imperious in defense, there seemed to be no way back for Milan 2.

Indeed this was the case, as Grossman scored the 3rd, 4th and 5th goals in quick succession to put the game beyond Milan’s reach. The GSB’s own David Banner celebrated by taking his shirt off, much to the distress of 100 cars on El Camino Real and many local schoolchildren watching the game.

With the GSB climbing to 4th place in the league, next weeks game is crucial to the GSB’s hopes of the title.
