At the moment, the GSB Soccer Team is up and down like a tart’s knickers.

After entering the local Silicon Valley League, the GSB began the season like a tornado, spanking the Cupertino Blind School 7-2 in Game 1, to go to the top of the league. Medhi Malaki, MBA2 scored the first from his favorite distance (4 inches), before Christian Lawrence, MBA2 and Brian Grossman, MBA2 added a hat-trick each.

With game 2 resulting in a hard fought draw, thanks to a Joerg Sponer, MBA2 last minute equalizer, the GSB slipped to third place in the table.

Game 3 saw the GSB up against the new league leaders, Inter Milan. With Inter Milan fielding a strangely Mexican (isn’t Inter Milan an Italian team?) line-up, GSB hopes were high, especially given talented new signings Andriy Shapowal, MBA1 and Ricardo Cervantes, MBA1.

However, the optimism soon evaporated. With defender Greg Miliotes, MBA2 distracted by an attractive sight on the touchline, the opposition forward sneaked by and put Milan in the lead. Two further goals made it 3-0, before Mark Budd, MBA2 scored a goal with his neck (?), to reduce the deficit to 3-1.

The fleeting hopes of a comeback faded quickly as Bryant Jenkins, MBA2 flapped like a Charleston dancer at a shot, missing it entirely to leave the GSB 4-1 down. A final goal in the last few seconds resulted in a crushing 5-1 defeat for the GSB, and a drop to fifth place in the league. One hopes that the GSB will return to form in next week's game…
